Analysis of dioxins and dioxin like PCBs in food and feed
Heavy metals are contaminants that migrate into feed mainly from the environmental surroundings. According to literature, plants and products of plant origin are the most exposed to heavy metals contamination.
The most commonly found in feed, and the most dangerous heavy elements are cadmium, lead, mercury and arsenic.
In the SP Laboratory, heavy metal concentrations are determined by methods based on international standards, but also on our validated methods using the most modern equipment (microwave digestion for sample preparation and Induced-infused plasma with Mass Spectrometer – ICP / MS). Testing of metals and metalloids in food, feed and water is part of the flexible scope of accreditation from 2018.
